Our studio was founded in the end of 2020 by Ahma, Apila, Sasha and Luka. The Studio was created from the need to provide a safer space to get tattooed. Gentleness is radical!

We settled on the name Nokkasiili in 2023. “Nokkasiili” means echidna in finnish. We love this curious spiked creature, it is a little bit of an oddball in the animal kingdom. Just like we are! Echidnas poke with their spiked, kind of like how we poke with our tattoo needles.

Studio Nokkasiili creates a community where we can let our other creative outlets blossom as well. Our tattoo artists create art in a variety of other of ways. Some of us write or illustrate book, some make comics, others paint and some even make sound art. We like to keep ourselves busy with other mediums as well!

Our goal is to offer a safer and and more inclusive tattooing experience, as best as we can. We understand that we cannot be perfect. Our little group is always improving and learning so we can develop the best experience for our clients. There seems to be a need for the gentleness we can offer.
